Wills

It is advisable for everyone to have a Last Will and Testament. While many people associate Wills merely with the distribution of their assets upon death, your Will also ensures that a number of other important issues are taken care of in a manner that meets your wishes. A few examples of such issues include appointing a person(s) to act as your estate trustee, establishing trusts for minor beneficiaries, and selecting the person(s) you would like to become the guardian(s) of your minor children if both you and your spouse die.

If you already have a Will, it is very important you ensure it is up-to-date. Over the years, there may be changes in your life that need to be reflected in your Will, such as changes to relationships, the death of loved ones, and new relatives being born.  It is also important to be aware that marriage generally revokes a prior valid Will, but separation does not.  Daniel Wilson Law Office is available to review your Will and advise you in this regard.

Furthermore, it is important to be aware of the insufficiencies provided in "Will kits/packages" that can be bought in stores, online, and over the radio. These kits lack critical information and are often incapable of properly dealing with your particular family circumstances. Will drafting should not be rushed and it is necessary to discuss your circumstances thoroughly with a lawyer to ensure your Will is properly drafted.  By consulting with Daniel Wilson Law Office you can be assured your Will is a valid Will and reflects your intentions, including the appointment of a guardian for any minor children.
